Wow. This shows a deep lack of understanding of generational trauma. Yes something certainly is ‘off’ when people have problematic relationships with immediate family. But it isn’t always easy to cut ties with those who raised and shaped you. Or to move on from what can be decades of negative influence.

It’s sad to read this, to be honest. So many people in positions of influence and privilege are completely blind to the leg ups they have had. Supportive and well-adjusted families being just one of them.

This isn’t trolling, I was genuinely interested to read your piece, and have enjoyed many of your posts. Have you read up on how Adverse Childhood Experience impact people?
