Woah. I’ve experienced this as a white woman about sexism and it used to make me feel I was going insane. To experience it from friends/acquaintances/family about race sounds unbearable. It shows how damaging racism and sexism is, and how it creeps inside us and erodes our sanity and world view and soul. Because ignorance really is bliss. But it’s dangerous too.
