This is a fascinating article, Gillian. I had never read that some people hijack their nervous systems for good. That is the saddest thing. The only thing that has kept me going at times is the belief things would eventually start to feel better.

I also drank to soothe my hyper sensitive ADHD (so far undiagnosed) brain. I also have mild dyslexia and dyspraxic tendencies, so basically, many everyday tasks feel quite difficult and stressful. So, yeah, drinking was the best. Except it made my symptoms worse.
