Thanks for this Michelle Woo! I have been guilty of treating kids like little aliens, and also sort of performing being a friendly person, rather than just being curious about and interested in them. I’ve definitely gotten better over the years, but I used to find it really difficult to know how to interact with them. This makes it sound really simple — just treat them like I would want to be treated. Don’t be too ott or come on too strong, look out for social cues.
